Cookie Policy

This document explains what cookies are, which ones exist on this site, what they are for, and how you can accept, decline, or change your choice at any time.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a site can save in your browser to remember information between visits, such as preferences or statistical usage data. On their own, they do not reveal your name or identification documents, but they can be used to recognize the same browser over time.

Essential cookies

Technical verification: this site, by itself, does not save any essential cookie. Your choice about analytics cookies (accept or decline) is stored in the browser's localStorage, under the key mm_cookie_consent, which is a type of local storage different from a cookie and necessary only to remember your decision.

This storage is strictly necessary for the consent banner to function and does not depend on prior authorization, since it involves no tracking and no data sent to third parties.

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics)

Only if you click "Accept analytics," the site loads Google Analytics (GA4, via gtag.js), a Google service that sets cookies to measure general usage statistics, such as visit counts and most-visited pages.

No personalized advertising is enabled. The code sends the anonymize_ip parameter, inherited from Universal Analytics; according to Google's current documentation, this parameter is redundant in GA4, which no longer records the full IP address by default, with or without it. This site's effective protection against Analytics is blocking the script from loading before your choice, not that parameter.

Cookies technically observed on this site

The table below lists the cookies confirmed by direct browser inspection during testing on the Portuguese site, with the accepted service. No other cookie of this site's own has been identified.

Cookie Service Purpose Duration
_ga Google Analytics (GA4) Distinguishes browsers/visitors for aggregated usage statistics. Up to 2 years, per Google's public documentation.
_ga_<property-id> (e.g., _ga_88SNR74E90) Google Analytics (GA4) Maintains session state specific to this GA4 property. Up to 2 years, per Google's public documentation.

Technical note The durations above are those stated in Google's official documentation for Google Analytics 4 and have not been independently measured by this site; the existence and names of the cookies, on the other hand, were confirmed by direct inspection in a local test environment.

How to accept or decline

On your first visit, a banner is shown with the options "Accept analytics" and "Decline analytics," with equal visual emphasis for both choices. Until you choose, no analytics cookie is created.

How to change your choice later

Use the "Manage preferences" link, permanently available in the footer of every page of this site — in Portuguese and in English — to reopen the banner and change your decision at any time. When you decline, existing analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_<id>) are removed by the browser itself.

Impact of declining

What happens if I decline

Declining analytics cookies does not limit access to any content on the site. You can continue reading tutorials, prompts, examples, and educational material normally. The only difference is that Google Analytics does not receive browsing data from this device.

Third-party cookies

First-party cookie is one set by the marciomacedo.ia.br domain itself; third-party cookie is set by a different domain (in this case, Google's), even when the script was included by this site. The _ga/_ga_<id> cookies described on this page are third-party (Google) cookies, loaded by this site only after your authorization.

The only third-party service that sets cookies on this site, when authorized, is Google Analytics. Visual libraries loaded via CDN (Bootstrap and Bootstrap Icons) did not set any cookies of their own in the tests performed.

External Artificial Intelligence tools occasionally suggested in the prompts (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, etc.) are separate sites, accessed only when you click a link. This site does not control, audit, or guarantee which cookies or other storage (such as localStorage or sessionStorage) those tools use — each has its own cookie and privacy policy, which may change at any time and should be checked directly on each tool's site.

Browser controls

Browser instructions

In addition to the options offered by this site, most browsers let you block or delete cookies manually in their privacy settings. Check your browser's documentation (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, or another) for specific instructions, including private or incognito browsing mode.
